My Children Swarm the Cosmos

“. . . Hey. What’s that over there?”
“What is it?”
The two researchers were gazing up at the stars scattered across the cosmos.
One area of the starlit sky, which had been shining like stars scattered across a sheet of black paper, had become a gaping black hole, as though someone had scooped all the stars out of it.
And this black hole was growing larger and larger.
“There’s something there. . . .”
“A black hole . . . ?”
“No, it’s not.”
It wasn’t a gaping black hole.
Something huge was blocking out the starlight.
Something huge was approaching, and more and more starlight was being blocked out as it drew nearer.
Red dots spread out from that location like nightmare dust, gradually drawing closer.
All of those red dots were the single eyes of the Cresecter horde.
“Holy crap! . . . Those are all eyes . . .!!”
“Run!!!”
